Objective
 
This practical three hour seminar is a formal introduction to Data Modeling for business analysts and project stakeholders that need to understand what a Data Model is, how much it helps improve both product requirements and our understanding of business rules, and how good logical data models become the basis of flexible systems and satisfied business customers.  Participants will learn the types of data models, the essential components of logical data models, how to read them, and how they form the foundation of the physical design and construction of systems databases.

Faculty
 
JoAnne Sabin, CBAP, is curriculum director and senior faculty for PESG's Data Modeling curriculum. She has built and managed enterprise and project data and process models, and taught and mentored hundreds of analysts in how to build them.  She is among the first Certified Business Analyst Professionals and has been a practicing Business Analyst for over 30 years. She has developed and taught courseware covering Requirements, Modeling (Data, Process, and Use Case), Design, and Software Testing since the early1990’s, including classes both in the U.S. and abroad.  She also has extensive experience in process improvement for IT, developing project management and systems development frameworks, practices, and methodologies in several fortune 500 companies, including customized versions encompassing waterfall, iterative, incremental, RAD, and Agile.

Access - The seminar is delivered using Cisco Webex Meeting Center. When you join the online meeting using the link provided in a confirmation email, you will be asked to either phone a US toll number or connect using a computer head set. If you phone in to the audio conference using the toll number provided, long distance toll charges will apply. If you connect using a computer head set with microphone, no toll charges will apply.
